ABOUT US
An innovatory Academic activity, known as Robotics Workshop, started in the Colegio Cristobal Colon in June 2007, giving our Junior High School and High School students the opportunity to develop their abilities and aptitudes in the field of problem solving using mechanical and electronic devices.
Using mechanical parts like gears, pulleys, axles, electronic motors, sensors and programmable controllers, our students have acquired the knowledge to build mechanisms in the form of autonomous robotic vehicles.
During the first year of the project, our students participated in the Mexican Robotics Contest in the Junior Rescue Category. the challenge was to develop a line follower robot in a maze. The contest was held at the Universidad Popular Autonoma del Estado de Puebla.
Our Students came in 4th. place.
Last September, our team participated in the 1st. Mexican RoboCup Open, held at the " Palacio de Mineria" organized by the Mexican Robotics Federation.
We participated in two categories: Junior Rescue and Junior Soccer.
During the Junior Soccer competition the challenge was to build a soccer team of robots, with the ability to compete in a soccer match, pushing a lighted ball into the opponent's goal line.
Becoming the runner up team gave us the right to participate in the World Championship for intelligent robots in Graz, Austria in July 2009.
